Kegon Falls, located at Chugushi, Nikko City, Tochigi Prefecture, is designated as one of the three most famous waterfalls in Japan and is one of Nikko’s representative tourist destinations.
Nikko has many waterfalls that they are called the 48 Waterfalls (a name given to multiple waterfalls in a particular area in Japan), the most famous of which is Kegon Falls.
Kegon Falls are fed by the waters of nearby Lake Chuzenjiko, and have a drop of 97 meters.

There are two observation decks at Kegon Falls. One allows visitors to view the falls from above for free.
The other observatory is located 100 meters below the waterfall via an elevator and a passageway. (Fees required)
The view of Kegon Falls from the observatory near the basin and the sound of the cascading water are very powerful.
