The Shinjuku Expressway Bus Terminal, located in Shibuya City, Tokyo, is one of the largest transportation terminals in Japan, serving express buses, cabs, and trains in the South Exit area of JR Shinjuku Station.
More than 1,500 buses arrive and depart from Shinjuku Expressway Bus Terminal each day, providing transportation to various areas of Japan from Aomori in the north to Fukuoka in the west.
Services and Facilities
The Shinjuku Expressway Bus Terminal has an expressway bus ticket counter, an English-speaking information counter, a waiting room, a souvenir shop, a convenience store, and coin lockers.
The terminal is also equipped with “Japan Connected-free Wi-Fi” for international travelers.

NEWoMan SHINJUKU, which is attached to the Shinjuku Expressway Bus Terminal, has souvenir shops, cafes and restaurants. So you can also have a meal before boarding the expressway bus.
Traveling by express bus takes longer, it is less expensive than taking the Shinkansen bullet train or airplane, so those with more time to spare are recommended to take the bus.
Although there are only a few buses available these days, some buses are equipped with private rooms, making the express buses a more comfortable way to travel.
